Jia Wei (b.1976 China) believes that in the near future, human beings can obtain
immortal life through technology and art. He reimagines a world which revolves
around immortality and sub-life: “Ru” refers to immortal life, whereas “Hua” refers to the sub-life of “seeing a world in a flower”.
For Ruhua Tussock ・ Turn Round ・ Motorcycle, Jia Wei spent countless hours to assemble 26,000 pieces of LEGO® bricks, collaborating with LEGO® Certified
Professional, Prince Jiang. In such a feat, Ruhua’s world transcends time and
space, bearing an immortal self who views the world like a flower. Ruhua no
longer bears her appearance in the real world but instead unifies the five
senses while perceiving a colorful and complex world with her eyes.
